I hadn't realized that it has been so long since anything got written! I don't even know where to begin!

Pictures of my wee house are included this time. I have to show off my work! Last time I wrote about the painting and now it's done. I still have the bathroom to do, but that's a winter chore.

I bought new ceiling fans and light fixtures! My favourite ceiling fan is in the diningroom. I also bought the wall coverings for the light switches and plugs. They aren't cheap!

My friend's daughter who was staying with me finally left at the end of June. She's none the wiser, I'm afraid, and ended up with nowhere to go once more when things with the new roommate didn't work out. She quit her job and hasn't found another yet. It's a shame really, but she's not my problem.

This past summer brought us very very hot temperatures again. Hot and humid, which I absolutely hate! As usual, summer went by far too quickly.

Now, I have had some tough going lately in terms of ill folks. My Mom's best friend has a tumour on her pancreas. I do hope that all goes well with her surgery. This is someone I've known since I was 5 years old. My friend, David aka The Concorde Pilot is very ill with cancer. I saw him about a month ago, and he does not look well. Then, another dear friend of mine just lost his wife to cancer last week. Has not been a fun time lately, let me tell you!

Okay, that's the sad newson to better things now.

On the work front I have been working days. Yes, those dreaded days I hate so much! It was quite by accident that I got them, really it was. I decided I wanted variety, so I picked spareboard. What spareboard means is you don't find out until 5:00 p.m. the night before what you will be doing the next day. There were 53 spots, I took #49, figuring that would give me late work. WRONG! I had one week, at my request, when I did late stuff. However, there really wasn't much late stuff to do, so I just took my lumps. In the 5 weeks that I did this (I was on vacation for 1 week), I had 4 days that I went into work after 12:00 p.m. The rest of the starts were between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.! This board period I am working a 10 to 10. I am finding the days long, but I'm home on my splits for about 3-1/2 hours. I took the crew because it paid well, had weekends off AND the 2nd part takes over and finishes up the street from my house.

We will be signing up for the next 2 board periods on October 31st, and I have no idea what I'll do. They messed up the crew I am now doing in terms of the off days, so that won't work for me. I would like weekends off going into the Christmas season. I also have a week off at Christmas this year.

The other thing we do in October is pick vacation for next year! I mean really, who knows what they want to do in October? The nice thing is we can switch it after. Of course, you can only switch if there is an open space in the week you want to switch to.

I know I am missing stuff in here, but I can't think of it right now! Oh well life, as usual, is never boring with me!
