Issue XXXII - 23rd October 2005

Hi Folks, Sorry for the delay in getting the next issue out but I have been working really hard up to my retirement. I am now....<drumroll>... an offical pensioner!! OK, a young pensioner (glaring at anyone who dares to disagree). I am just back from Paris where I had a delightful time with my sister
Maggs. Paris is a wonderful city and I think everyone should try to visit
there at least once in their lifetime. I insisted that Maggs accompany me to the Louvre as I really
wanted to see the Mona Lisa, we got a little lost though (it is huge)
and wandered through the Greek statues section where Maggs promptly accused
me of taking her to Paris so we could go "Willy Watching". (I
noticed she wasn't averting her eyes any). Maggs found a bar that had lively music and our favourite French drink, pastis, it's meant to be an apéritif but that didn't bother us, we drank it after meals just as easily as before. I decided to take a chance and leave middle sprog on his own in the house, with dire warnings on which appendages he would lose if I came back to a mess. Funnilly enough, my threats...errr...advice must have worked because everything was ok when I returned. (or I haven't found out yet what he was up to). At the moment I am looking for a new house, it is a chore ok. Some of the descriptions online bear no resemblance to the properties I actually view.. I know some people who view houses as a sort of hobby, I really don't know how they can be bothered. The downside to all this is that I am kept busy preparing my own house for sale. I am dreading actually putting my own house up for sale, all the people tramping through, criticising everything. We are off to Scotland next week for another short break, which I am looking forward to very much. I love Scotland, probably because it is very similar to Northern Ireland. We are getting the ferry and I have been nominated the driver, so no doubt we will get lost on at least one occasion. <S> With a short break in this editorial, I have now returned
from Scotland, it was a lovely trip. Yes, we did get lost but not on the
day I drove into the metropolis of Glasgow (or out of it) it was in a
small seaside town called Ayr, which was on our way home. I hope you all have a wonderful Hallowe'en and don't eat too much candy. See you all soon!
